The Houston Dynamo are looking forward to their upcoming match against FC Dallas in the Texas Derby on Saturday night.

Houston (2-1-0, 6 points) will be the last MLS team to play away this season. Their earlier match at New England was postponed due to delays with the new grass installation.

The Dynamo focused on training during January and February before the season started.

“Most teams wouldn’t be thrilled to travel, but we haven’t gone anywhere yet this year. We didn’t do much preseason travel either,” said Houston coach Ben Olsen. “It’ll be refreshing to get the team away, and since this is a derby, it’s exciting for both teams.”

The Dynamo have fallen behind in all three matches this season. Last Saturday, Mateusz Bogusz scored his first goal for the club, helping Houston secure a dramatic 3-2 victory over Portland, even after teammate Nick Markanich was sent off.

Dallas (1-1-2, 5 points) hasn’t won since the first match of the season but has faced three of the top five teams in the Supporters’ Shield standings, resulting in two draws.

“You analyze the video to identify problems and address them during practice,” said Dallas coach Eric Quill. “The players have been focused all week, and we hope the adjustments we’re making translate into better performance in the games.”

Last Saturday, Petar Musa scored a hat trick in a 3-3 draw against San Diego, becoming the first team to earn points against them this season. Musa is now tied with Vancouver’s Brian White for the league lead in goals, with five, while Logan Farrington has scored Dallas’ only other goal.
