Eagle Football Group, which succeeded OL Groupe, has yet to release its annual accounts for 2024-2025 despite a commitment made on October 28 to finalize them “by no later than November 30”. The latest known financial data remains from the summer, showing a revenue drop of €99 million, and the first half of the year ended with a deficit of €117 million. This delay is attributed to the need for clarification regarding the internal financial flows within Eagle Group, especially between the Lyon branch, John Textor’s holding company, and Botafogo, in light of several unclear transactions and transfers.
Additionally, there is an ongoing dispute between Textor and the American fund Iconic, as a British court has dismissed his request to avoid paying over $90 million. Textor’s appeal is still pending. Despite this uncertain situation, the Lyon executives remain confident and assert that they are well-prepared for their upcoming meeting with the DNCG, claiming they have the necessary documentation to validate their financial status.
