Max Dowman made history this weekend by scoring for Arsenal against Everton.
The young talent changed the match as a substitute at the Emirates, helping Arsenal secure a 2-0 victory with two late goals. Dowman played a key role in the first goal and then quickly scored the second on a counter-attack.
His first goal for Arsenal makes him the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history, breaking the previous record held by former Everton player James Vaughan since 2025.

Dowman scored his first Premier League goal at 16 years and 73 days old, easily surpassing the previous record. However, the youngest player ever to score in England’s top league is Jason Dozzell, who was 16 days younger than Dowman when he scored for Ipswich against Coventry in 1984.
Remarkably, two of the five youngest Premier League goalscorers were active this season. Liverpool‘s Rio Ngumoha also made headlines by scoring the winner against Newcastle in August.
Wayne Rooney became the first 16-year-old to score in the Premier League with a notable goal for Everton against Arsenal in October 2002.
