Barcelona is aiming to enhance both its team and coaching staff. Thiago Alcântara will rejoin his former club as Hansi Flick’s new assistant.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the 34-year-old ex-midfielder, who worked with Flick for several weeks last year, has chosen to come back to Barcelona, where he began his career. He is expected to start his new role next week.
Alcântara is a product of Barcelona’s academy and played for the first team from 2011 to 2013. He ended his professional career in 2024, with Liverpool being his last club.
