Thiago Motta Speaks Out After Being Fired by Juventus

Footem.inThiago Motta spoke out after being fired as Juventus coach on Sunday (23/3) even though his contract only ends in the summer of 2027, quoted from ESPN .

“I have experienced intense moments, always facing them with maximum determination and the desire to improve every day,” Thiago Motta told the Football-Italia website on Tuesday (25/3).

The Brazilian-born coach took charge of Juventus 42 times in all competitions, but only won 18 games and lost eight.

With Motta, Juventus finished fifth in the Italian League standings, were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia, and failed to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Despite being fired, Motta remains grateful to Juventus management for trusting him to manage the Turin club.

“I would like to thank the club owners for giving me the opportunity to be part of this great club, the management and everyone in the club who has supported me in my daily work,” said Motta.

“I also thank the players for their effort and commitment since day one. I wish the fans and Juventus all the best for the future,” he continued.

Juventus have appointed Igor Tudor as Motta’s replacement. Tudor was Andrea Pirlo’s assistant coach at the club.
