From an Arsenal legend to a Liverpool icon, the message is clear. Thierry Henry, a consultant for CBS, recently addressed Mohamed Salah’s sidelining by Liverpool and the Egyptian winger’s comments. After the 3-3 draw against Leeds United on Saturday, Salah expressed his disappointment: “I am very, very disappointed. I have done so much for this club over the years, especially last season. Now, I’m sitting on the bench and I don’t know why. It feels like the club has thrown me under the bus. That’s how I feel. It’s clear to me that someone wanted me to take all the blame. I received many promises this summer, and so far I have been on the bench for three matches, so I can’t say those promises were kept. I have often said that I have a good relationship with the coach, and suddenly, there is no relationship. I don’t know why, but I feel like someone no longer wants me at the club.”

Thierry Henry did not take Salah’s remarks lightly and made his feelings known: “I had issues with Wenger, with Guardiola… Have you ever heard me speak about it publicly? Never. When you play for a club, you have to protect it at all costs. No matter what happens internally, you defend the club. You protect your teammates, the staff, your manager… You can be upset, frustrated, or disagree… But you don’t air your dirty laundry in public, especially when the team is struggling. You wait, handle it internally, and then if you want to leave or express your feelings, you do it at the right time. I understand the ego and frustration from Mo—he scores 38 goals and finds himself on the bench… But at some point, you must put the team before yourself.”
