Reports suggest Liverpool and Newcastle United are eyeing a potential move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic this summer.
Premier League Clubs Interested
Both Liverpool and Newcastle are reportedly keen to bolster their attacking options before the Premier League transfer window closes.
Vlahovic, the 25-year-old Serbian international, has emerged as a target for both clubs after a decent season with Juventus. It’s understood the player is interested in a move to the Premier League, where clubs are more likely to meet his wage demands of around €9 million per year.
AC Milan are also said to be interested, but their reported offer of €6 million per year falls short of Vlahovic’s expectations.
Vlahovic’s Situation at Juventus
Vlahovic’s form has dipped somewhat since joining Juventus from Fiorentina in January 2022. He was once considered one of Serie A’s most promising young strikers.
However, the 2024/25 season saw him improve, bagging 17 goals and 5 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions, contributing to a total of 22 goals.
Despite this improvement, his future at Juventus remains uncertain. The club has already signed Jonathan David and are reportedly planning to bring back Randal Kolo Muani, potentially threatening Vlahovic’s place in the squad. This situation has alerted several clubs, including Liverpool and Newcastle.
Potential Move to England
Liverpool were previously offered the chance to sign Vlahovic, but a deal didn’t materialize.
Now, their interest has been rekindled, particularly after Hugo Ekitike’s impressive performances in Arne Slot’s first three games. While Alexander Isak remains a target, Vlahovic could provide additional firepower up front.
For Newcastle, concerns about Isak’s long-term future, with links to Liverpool, have prompted them to look for alternatives.
The 2024/25 EFL Cup winners see Vlahovic as a potential replacement for Callum Wilson, making the Serbian striker a serious option for The Magpies. More details are available on Footem.in .
