Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has already prepared replacement options in case captain Son Heung-Min leaves during the summer transfer window.
Son recently revealed that he will be leaving the club this summer.
Frank said he had a number of names in mind to replace Son in the left wing position.
“When one player leaves the team, others have a chance to shine. Brennan Johnson has played on the left flank, Wilson Odobert performed well there against Arsenal in a friendly, and Mathys Tel can do it too,” Thomas Frank said on the club’s official website on Saturday.
The South Korean national team captain has decided to leave Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after successfully leading the London-based club to the championship title.
Last season, Son led the Lily Whites to victory in the Europa League.
The German coach responded to Son’s decision, which he described as a very difficult one because Son is a Spurs legend.
“Personally, I would love to work with this fantastic person and player. He’s a true Spurs legend in every sense,” said Thomas Frank.
Son joined Spurs in August 2015 after being brought in from Bayer Leverkusen.
Since then, he has become the focal point of the north London club’s attack. He has scored 173 goals and provided 101 assists in 454 appearances in all competitions, winning one Europa League trophy.
