Mathys Tel is looking for a loan move from Tottenham for more playing time.
Other than Conor Gallagher’s signing, Tottenham Hotspur has mainly been concentrating on letting players go in this winter transfer window. They have recalled several young talents from their loan spells and reallocated them for the rest of the season while making the notable decision to sell Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace.
Currently, Spurs find themselves in a difficult position, sitting 14th in the Premier League and having exited two domestic cup competitions. The mood around the club is tense, and with Thomas Frank struggling to get the best performance from the players, some squad members are considering loan moves to gain consistent playing time.
Mathys Tel is among those players. The young forward has not seen much action since Thomas Frank took over in June 2025. This season, the French player has managed only 685 minutes in 19 games. He has scored three goals in 14 league matches, but has only started five of those. Additionally, Tel was excluded from Spurs’ Champions League squad in September, but returned in December to replace the injured Dominic Solanke.
