Timothy Weah Addresses Critics with Confidence and Clarity

In a press conference ahead of the match against Brest, Timothy Weah addressed the recent struggles of Olympique de Marseille, following their defeat to Atalanta earlier in the week. The new Marseille player urged caution in the evaluations of this challenging period. “We shouldn’t overreact; sometimes you win a lot, and sometimes you don’t. We shouldn’t go too low when we lose matches. There was real disappointment against Atalanta, but we need to move on. It’s disappointing because of the penalty, but we must take responsibility for not playing well.”

Reflecting on the situation, the 25-year-old American expressed his confusion. “I read that it’s a total crisis, and I don’t understand. We’re just two points behind Paris. We may not be getting the results we want, but it’s not the end of the world. We need to focus on our work and not look at others. As for pressure? That doesn’t surprise me at all. I’ve played for top clubs like Paris, Juventus, and Celtic. When you lose, it can get a bit chaotic, but players shouldn’t dwell on that. Tomorrow’s match is very important because we can take the lead. We need to stay focused on this match and aim for three points. The group’s mentality is great. We just need to put in the work; everyone here is calm, and the noise is outside.” The message is clear.
