At the start of the season, Tino Kadewere faced an issue with the Zimbabwe national team. The former FC Nantes and OL player was removed from the national squad after being accused of insulting a journalist and making inappropriate contact. In an interview with Ouest-France, Kadewere defended himself, denying any form of violence.

“This journalist was writing things about my mother and my wife. I tried to talk to her, asking if I had done anything to deserve that. Things escalated but didn’t go further. Since it was in public, the federation advised me to apologize, and that’s what I did,” he stated.
