A striking comparison.
Ivan Toney transferred from Brentford to Al-Ahli in the summer of 2024 and has completed a full season there. He recently shared his thoughts on the quality of the Saudi Pro League.
Details: Speaking to The Guardian, the English striker supported Cristiano Ronaldo‘s claim, stating that Al-Ahli aims for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
Quote: “In my view, the Pro League is on par with the Premier League. If Al-Ahli competed in the Premier League, we’d do well and be close to the top four. It’s a strong league, and people should not underestimate it. Look at how Al-Hilal performed against Manchester City and won,” Toney stated.
In the current season, Al-Ahli started the Pro League with a 1-0 win over Neom and also secured the Saudi Super Cup.
Reminder: Following the Champions League victory against Kawasaki, Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino is seeking new challenges.
