Before Senne Lammens, Manchester United faced challenges in finding a reliable goalkeeper to succeed David de Gea.
De Gea was once one of the top goalkeepers, but struggled to adjust to the modern Premier League where goalkeepers need good ball skills.
Andre Onana replaced De Gea in 2023, but he soon showed he wasn’t dependable.
Altay Bayindir, signed as a backup to Onana, also proved inconsistent during his limited playtime. This led Ruben Amorim to sign Lammens.
The young Belgian is still developing, but his early performances with Manchester United suggest promise.
The role of goalkeeper at Manchester United often draws criticism, but Lammens has adapted well.
Due to the club’s strong faith in De Gea, Dean Henderson wasn’t given a fair opportunity to claim the No.1 spot.
Henderson moved to Crystal Palace in 2023 after a successful loan at Nottingham Forest, and now Tottenham Hotspur is considering him.
The Daily Mail reports that Henderson is ‘under consideration’ by Tottenham this summer.
Manchester City‘s James Trafford and Noah Atubolu are also mentioned, but Henderson’s ‘leadership and experience’ appeal to a team facing relegation.
Currently, Tottenham has Guglielmo Vicario and Antonin Kinsky as goalkeeping options, but neither has shown strong performances.
Henderson is a four-cap England international who joined Manchester United from Carlisle United at 14.
He signed his first professional contract in August 2014 and went on several loan spells to aid his growth.
However, his time at Old Trafford didn’t go as planned, and he made 29 senior appearances, keeping 13 clean sheets and conceding 25 goals without securing a starting position.
As an FA Cup winner with Crystal Palace, Henderson could be a valuable addition for Spurs, but whether they can attract him from Palace remains uncertain.
