Tottenham Hotspur is considering signing FC Porto striker Samu Aghehowa during the January transfer window.

Thomas Frank indicates that the winter window may bring new signings as Spurs aim to improve after a tough start to the season. Currently, the North London team sits in 11th place, and adding more attacking options is a priority.

Aghehowa has become a viable choice for Spurs, following a successful run in Portugal. The 21-year-old has netted 43 goals in 68 appearances since joining Porto from Atletico Madrid in 2024.

His strong performances led to his inclusion in the Spain national team, where he has earned four senior caps. Aghehowa nearly joined Chelsea in 2024 but ended up at Porto after the deal with the London club fell through.

Frank is eager to boost his team’s goal-scoring, especially with Dominic Solanke having limited appearances this season and Randal Kolo Muani yet to score in the Premier League.

Aghehowa is one of several candidates being evaluated, as per the Evening Standard, which also mentions Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush.

Marmoush has only started twice in the Premier League this season and is facing more competition for his spot as City looks to sign Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth. Spurs had previously shown interest in Semenyo but are now exploring other options.

Spurs are not the only club interested in Aghehowa; Newcastle and Aston Villa are also keeping an eye on him. However, Porto is hesitant to part with the striker mid-season as they currently lead the Primeira Liga in Portugal.
