Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal will square off in Hong Kong in July. It will be the first North London derby to be played outside of England.
The pre-season fixture will be played at the newly-built Kai Tak Stadium on 3 July as part of the Hong Kong Football Festival 2025.
As quoted by ESPN, Arsenal managing director Richard Garlick recently revealed in a statement that the Gunners are planning to visit Hong Kong to meet their loyal fans during the upcoming pre-season.
“Everyone at Arsenal will be visiting Hong Kong in July. It will be great to be back with the first team squad after 13 years and give us the opportunity to meet our fantastic supporters in the region,” Garlick said in a statement.
“As well as training hard and competing, we can’t wait to connect with our Hong Kong supporters in this beautiful part of the world,” he added.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur executive Ryan Noyrs has also spoken about the clash. He also revealed that Spurs will hold an open training session.
“Playing Arsenal at the new and magnificent Kai Tak Stadium will be a fantastic experience for both teams and the fans who will be in attendance. Their presence will be an important part of our (Tottenham’s) pre-season preparations ahead of the new campaign,” said Ryan Norys.
“This match is a great opportunity for our fans across Asia and provides the team with the ideal preparation for the new season,” concluded Norys.
Another pre-season fixture to be played in Hong Kong is the Liverpool vs. AC Milan match at the same venue on 26 July.
