England’s head coach Thomas Tuchel has announced that the team will enter the 2026 World Cup as underdogs. He stressed that his focus is on creating a united team rather than just bringing together star players. As a result, he has no plans to bring back Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, or Jack Grealish, who are currently not in the squad.

Details: Tuchel highlighted that the main criterion for selecting players is team unity.

“We don’t gather the most talented players, we build a team,” he stated.

The coach mentioned that Bellingham, Foden, and Grealish will only be recalled if it enhances the team’s unity. According to Tuchel, having top players doesn’t matter if the team lacks balance and harmony.

He explained that leaving Bellingham out is part of preparing for the World Cup, where England will compete as underdogs.

“We have to be a team, otherwise we have no chance. We need to take it step by step, not rely on individuals,” he pointed out.

Tuchel noted that this team-focused approach is already yielding positive results.

Reminder: Harry Kane may miss England’s upcoming matches.
