Igor Tudor praised Tottenham midfielder Archie Gray after the team’s 3-2 win against Atletico Madrid.
Gray has been a standout player for Spurs this season, displaying impressive maturity at just 20 years old despite the team’s struggles.
He had another strong performance as Spurs defeated Atletico Madrid, although they were eliminated from the Champions League on aggregate.
Gray contributed significantly by assisting the second goal and received a warm applause when he was substituted. Atletico Madrid’s Marcos Llorente also recognized Gray’s performance with a handshake.
In the post-match press conference, Tudor expressed confidence in Gray’s ability to play centrally in the team.
“He’s a versatile player who fits well in the middle. He consistently makes good decisions and shows physical and mental strength. He must keep developing, as he’s still young,” Tudor said.
“Alongside Pape, they complement each other well; their quality has been evident in the last two matches. Xavi also performed admirably, showcasing his talent in a challenging position. Mathys contributed positively too.”
“Kolo was effective at the back, indicating that we can compete even when faced with setbacks, like the foul on Xavi that wasn’t called. Overall, we’re headed in a positive direction as a team, and we need to maintain this momentum.”
