The Copa Venezuela semifinals take place on Wednesday. At Estadio Olímpico de la UCV, UCV FC aims to complete their task against Deportivo La Guaira. Meanwhile, Carabobo hosts Monagas in the other semifinal match in Valencia.

UCV FC has a 2-0 lead from the first leg, thanks to goals from Juan Cuesta and Daniel De Sousa. Coach Daniel Sasso’s team was effective in the second half and now seeks to defend their advantage at home. They moved to this stage after defeating Anzoátegui 5-3 on aggregate and Barquisimeto SC 3-2, even though they recently lost a league match to Monagas.

Deportivo La Guaira, managed by Juan Domingo Tolisano, feels the pressure following a league defeat to Academia Puerto Cabello. They need to overcome the deficit to stay in the competition. They reached this stage by knocking out Caracas (2-0 on aggregate with both goals scored by Jackson Rivas) and Real Frontera (3-0).

Monagas advanced by eliminating Táchira with a 2-0 aggregate score and has already secured a spot in the league finals. Their defense, anchored by 17-year-old Marcos Maitán, has been solid, while Fernando Basante and Panamanian forward Tomás Rodríguez add strength to their attack.

These semifinal matches promise an exciting evening as traditional clubs and emerging teams compete for a place in the Copa Venezuela final.
