The Turkish and Serbian national teams have secured promotion to next season’s League A after eliminating their opponents in the play-off round.
Turkey defeated Hungary 3-0 in the second leg of the League A play-off round at the Puskas Arena stadium in Budapest on Monday Midnight IST, according to UEFA records.
Goals from Hakan Calhanoglu, Arda Guler and Abdulkerim Bardakci saw Türkiye overcome the Hungarians.
The result saw Türkiye beat Hungary 6-1 on aggregate, after Vicenzo Montella’s side had won the first leg 3-0 in Istanbul a few days earlier.
Along with Türkiye, Serbia also secured promotion to the UEFA Nations League’s top flight next season after defeating Austria 2-0 in the second leg at the Red Star Stadium in Belgrade on Monday early Morning (IST).
Serbia overcame Austria thanks to second-half goals from Nemanja Maksimovic and Dusan Vlahovic.
The win gave Serbia a 3-1 aggregate victory over Austria, who had drawn 1-1 in the first leg in Vienna a few days earlier.
Next up are Greece, who have been promoted to UEFA Nations League A following their 3-0 win over Scotland in the second leg of the play-off at Hampden Park, Glasgow.
Goals from Giannis Konstanelias, Konstantinos Karetsas and Christos Tzolis gave Greece the win over Scotland.
Despite losing 1-0 to Scotland in the first leg in Piraeus a few days ago, Greece won 3-1 on aggregate.
