UEFA Seeks to Extend Suspension of Russia from Competitions

Suspended since February 2022 from all competitions by FIFA and UEFA, Russia is not close to a return. While its clubs remain excluded from all European competitions, the Russian Football Federation is unlikely to be pleased with the latest developments from UEFA.

According to information from the Irish media outlet RTE, UEFA has no plans to allow Russia back into its competitions. Despite recommendations from the Olympic committee, the governing body for European football is clearly not open to reintegrating Russian teams into its tournaments.
