Micky van de Ven acknowledged that Tottenham Hotspur were outclassed in their 4-1 loss to Arsenal.

This defeat marks the second heavy loss to their North London rivals this season, with Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres each scoring twice for Arsenal. Interim manager Igor Tudor faced a tough start, and the team’s winless streak in the Premier League has now reached nine matches.

Randal Kolo Muani’s brief equaliser gave Spurs a moment of hope, but they struggled against their rivals. This result leaves Spurs just four points clear of the relegation zone.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Van de Ven stated that Spurs were bested by a stronger team: “Arsenal were the better team. We were still in the game at 1-1, but after the second half, they scored quickly, and it became really tough for us.

“We could improve our pressing. We pressed high, but Arsenal managed to break through. It’s something we need to work on. They performed better than us today.

“Taking a man-for-man approach carries risks; if one player is late, it leaves us exposed. While winning the ball high offers us many options, we also face significant risks when they break away.”
