Kaizer Chiefs players Asanele Velebayi and Luke Baartman have been cleared to play.

Following Cape Town Spurs’ drop to the third tier, they lost the case trying to keep the players’ contracts.

After weeks of legal discussions, SAFA arbitrator Hilton Epstein has made a decision that supports Amakhosi.

Epstein has ruled that Asanele Velebayi and Luke Baartman are now free agents, allowing them to join Kaizer Chiefs for competitive matches.

In August, the PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) had already recognized the duo as free agents, but Spurs appealed, claiming their contracts should remain valid. Epstein has confirmed the DRC’s decision, bringing the case to an end in favor of the players.

The two players might make their debuts against AS Simba in the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday, 18 October in Lumbumbashi, DRC.
