Victor Osimhen has been named Footballer of the Year at the 72nd Milliyet Sports Awards, a prominent sports event in Turkey.
The Nigerian striker was honored for his remarkable performance with Galatasaray, where he played a crucial role in the club’s historic domestic double last season. Osimhen had an outstanding season, scoring 37 goals and providing seven assists as Galatasaray secured both the Süper Lig title and the Turkish Cup.
The awards ceremony took place on Thursday night and is often called the “Oscars of sports” in Turkey. This event was significant as Osimhen became the first Nigerian to receive this prestigious award.
