Kerala Blasters’ fan group Manjappada released video evidence of club officials and stadium authorities attempting to remove their protest tifo during the team’s home match against Jamshedpur FC in the 2024-25 Indian Super League on Saturday.
“Insert Coin, #SaveKBFC,” the tifo read.
The fans present in the ground resisted the move and the tifo remained for rest of the match.
This comes despite the club recently assuring fans that it welcomed peaceful protests in its latest meeting with supporters.
Following the incident, Manjappada took to social media, expressing their frustration over the club’s actions.
“A double standard on full display,” they wrote.

Ongoing tensions between the fans and Kerala Blasters
The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, usually packed to the brim, recorded a low attendance even on a weekend – a stark reflection of fan discontent.
The official attendance for the match against Jamshedpur FC stood at at a dismal 4,389.
This incident is the latest flashpoint in the growing rift between Manjappada and Kerala Blasters’ management.
Earlier this season, during their home match against Odisha FC on January 13, Blasters fans had organised a rally outside the stadium, citing poor performance and mismanagement. However, police intervention disrupted the protest, with authorities reportedly threatening arrests.
Inside the stadium, fans shifted their protest to the stands, chanting slogans like “Magnum Sports Out” and “Management Out”, but security and police attempted to suppress the demonstration.
The latest tifo incident adds to the ongoing tension between the fans and the club.
