In the 92nd minute of stoppage time, Charlton’s 33-year-old defender Conor Coady suffered a direct hit to the face from Watford’s Tom Ince. This resulted in Coady being taken off the field on a stretcher and later by ambulance.

The injury required the referee to stop the match temporarily so the medical team could attend to Coady properly.

Sky Sports, which was broadcasting the match, chose not to replay the incident, respecting Coady and his family, who might not want to see that moment again.

Conor Coady is under contract with Wrexham but has been on loan at Charlton for the second half of the season.

The match concluded with a score of 1-1.

Reminder: Still in the game! Michail Antonio is close to making a significant return as he approaches a move to Charlton.
