West Ham United is planning to file a complaint and seek compensation from FIFA after Aaron Wan-Bissaka missed their FA Cup quarter-final match against Leeds United.
The 28-year-old defender was unavailable after helping the Democratic Republic of the Congo national team achieve their first World Cup qualification in 52 years on Tuesday.
Reports suggest that over 48 hours after DR Congo’s historic qualification, several players, including Wan-Bissaka, have not yet returned to their clubs. West Ham is frustrated by this situation and is requesting formal compensation from FIFA due to the impact on their FA Cup campaign.
West Ham ended up in a 2–2 draw during regular time but lost 4–2 in the penalty shootout to Leeds United, adding to their frustration about Wan-Bissaka’s absence.
