West Ham United will play their final match of 2025 on Saturday afternoon against Fulham at the London Stadium.
Currently, West Ham is in a tough spot, sitting 18th in the league with just 13 points. This marks their lowest points at Christmas since the 2010-11 relegation season. The team hasn’t won in their last six league matches, most recently losing 3-0 to Manchester City.
Fulham, on the other hand, is in good form. They are looking for their third consecutive Premier League win after narrowly defeating Nottingham Forest 1-0. A win for Fulham would be their first run of three league victories since early 2023. While West Ham has struggled in all five London derbies this season, they have a strong history at home against Fulham, losing only once in their last 14 matches at home against them.
West Ham is affected by the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka and young player El Hadji Malick Diouf are unavailable due to national duties. Additionally, Oliver Scarles is uncertain for the match due to an injury he sustained against Manchester City, while goalkeeper Łukasz Fabiański is out with a long-term back injury.
Marco Silva’s team is also dealing with AFCON-related absences, losing three Nigerian players: Calvin Bassey, Samuel Chukwueze, and Alex Iwobi. Striker Rodrigo Muniz is sidelined with a hamstring injury, and Ryan Sessegnon will miss his fifth straight game due to a muscle problem. Raúl Jiménez is expected to take the lead in the attack.
West Ham has had a challenging year in 2025, losing 10 home league matches, a troubling statistic they’ve only reached twice before. Their home performance has been particularly poor, as they have not won 11 of their last 13 league games at the London Stadium. Jarrod Bowen has scored in six of his past 12 home appearances but hasn’t secured a win in any of those matches.
Fulham has been performing well on the road, winning their last two away league matches. Despite being 13th in the standings, they have faced eight losses this season. Still, they will be confident against a West Ham team that is struggling, with their manager averaging just 0.83 points per game.
