The Carabao Cup is heating up this week! The third round is on the horizon, with Premier League teams joining the action.

While teams like Manchester United and West Ham battle it out in the second round to secure their spot, clubs with European commitments get a pass directly into the third round.

Newcastle, the reigning champions after their victory against Liverpool last season, are among those awaiting their third-round opponent.

The second round features two all-Premier League clashes, meaning Brentford, Bournemouth, Wolves, and West Ham will face immediate elimination.

When is the Carabao Cup draw?

Mark your calendars! The Carabao Cup third-round draw is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Sky Sports will broadcast Manchester United’s second-round game against Grimsby that evening, with kickoff at 8pm. The draw will follow the match.

The estimated start time for the draw is 10.15pm, but this could be delayed if the game goes to penalties. There will be no extra time played.

When is the Carabao Cup third round played?

Like last year, the Carabao Cup third-round matches will be played across two weeks due to the Champions League and Europa League schedule.

The first set of matches will take place during the week of September 15, 2025, and the remaining matches the week of September 22, 2025.
