Barcelona have achieved an incredible feat by beating Real Madrid in all four Clásicos this season. Here’s the last time they defeated Los Blancos in all their encounters in one campaign.
Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 4–3 in a thrilling Clasico to move one step closer to winning LaLiga. Now seven points clear of Los Blancos, they could seal the title as early as this week when they face Espanyol. But the victory also marked a historic milestone. Under Hansi Flick, Barcelona have become the first team ever to win all four Clasicos in a single season.
Previously, no side had previously managed a sweep of four wins in a single season in Clasico history. The record had belonged to Real Madrid, who won all three of their matchups against Barcelona in both the 2023–24 and 1935–36 seasons.
It’s worth noting that Barcelona once won four times against Madrid in a single season in 1982–83, during Diego Maradona’s first year at the club. That season, the two teams met five times, with Barcelona winning four and drawing one.
However, this is not the first time Barcelona have beaten Madrid in every meeting of a season. They last managed the feat in 2008–09, when the two sides met only twice in LaLiga. Barcelona won 2–0 at Camp Nou on December 13, then produced a memorable 6–2 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu on May 2.
Between the 2008–09 and 2010–11 seasons, Barcelona also recorded five consecutive Clasico wins. Real Madrid’s longest streak came between the 1961–62 and 1964–65 seasons, when they recorded seven straight victories over the Blaugranas.
Real Madrid’s most recent Clasico win came on April 21, 2024, when they beat Barcelona 3–2 in LaLiga at the Bernabeu. Vinicius, Lucas Vazquez, and Jude Bellingham were on the scoresheet for the hosts, while Fermín López and Andreas Christensen scored for Barcelona.
That match marked Madrid’s fourth straight Clasico victory. Before that, they had won in the Spanish Super Cup final by 4–1, in LaLiga at Montjuïc by 2–1, and in the Copa del Rey semifinal by 4–0. Since then, though, Flick’s Barcelona have taken control.
