After Real Madrid‘s surprise defeat, Barcelona is set to take the lead in LaLiga. Though the team had early-season defensive issues, recent matches have shown improvement. With this positive trend, they aim for a strong win against Real Sociedad today. However, they will play without two important players: Raphinha and Joan Garcia.

Barcelona’s attacking lineup has proved effective this season. Unfortunately, head coach Hansi Flick faces a significant challenge with the injury to Raphinha, who hurt his thigh during the match against Real Oviedo. He is expected to be out for about three weeks, leaving a gap in the team where he has excelled.

In addition to Raphinha, goalkeeper Joan Garcia will also be unavailable. Since his transfer from Espanyol, he has become an essential part of the team. Under coach Hansi Flick, Joan has performed well under pressure. Sadly, a torn meniscus in his left knee will keep him sidelined for around 4 to 6 weeks.

Despite these injuries, Barcelona’s squad depth is still a strong advantage. Therefore, Hansi Flick will look to secure wins in the upcoming matches. Marcus Rashford will take over the left wing, showcasing his offensive talents, while experienced goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny will ensure a solid defense.

Barcelona lineup vs Real Sociedad

Barcelona is managing a lengthy injury list with Raphinha and Joan Garcia now added to the list of absentees, which includes Fermin Lopez, Gavi, and Marc Andre Ter Stegen. However, Lamine Yamal’s return has brought excitement. Although he will start on the bench today to manage his condition, his presence boosts team morale. The team’s strong form keeps it favored against Real Sociedad.

The starting lineup for today includes: Wojciech Szczesny; Jules Kounde, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Gerard Martin; Frenkie De Jong, Pedri; Roony Bardghji, Dro Fernandez, Marcus Rashford; Robert Lewandowski.

Real Sociedad lineup vs Barcelona

Like Barcelona, Real Sociedad also faces numerous injuries, missing key players such as Orri Oskarsson, Aritz Elustondo, Yangel Herrera, and Jon Martin. Despite these challenges, head coach Sergio Francisco has assembled a strong lineup, with Mikel Oyarzabal and Ander Barrenetxea leading the attack. However, they need to improve their recent performances to regain their competitive edge today.

Real Sociedad will start with: Alex Remiro; Alvaro Odriozola, Igor Zubeldia, Duje Caleta-Car, Aihen Muñoz; Goncalo Guedes, Jon Gorrotxategi, Beñat Turrientes, Ander Barrenetxea; Pablo Marín, Mikel Oyarzabal.
