FC Barcelona is off to a solid start in the 2025-26 season, staying undefeated. They have recently improved their game, showing strong performances both offensively and defensively in their last two matches. As they prepare to face Getafe today in LaLiga’s Matchday 5, Barcelona looks to continue their winning streak. However, the absence of Lamine Yamal will be a challenge for the team.

After a demanding period in the UEFA World Cup qualifiers, Lamine Yamal is out due to pubic discomfort. Hansi Flick noted that the 18-year-old was in pain before his appearances for Spain, yet coach Luis De La Fuente chose to play him extensively. As a result, he has missed three important games, including today’s match and previous games against Newcastle and Valencia.

According to DAZN, Lamine Yamal might return for Barcelona’s next match against Real Oviedo. The team monitors his weekly progress, so his availability depends on his recovery. Fortunately, his absence is not expected to last long, easing concerns for Hansi Flick’s squad. The young player has already made an impact, scoring two goals and providing two assists in just three games.

Barcelona is seen as the favorite in today’s matchup, but Getafe has proven to be a tough opponent. In their last five meetings, head coach Jose Bordalas has secured three draws against Barcelona, highlighting his team’s defensive capabilities. Additionally, Getafe has won three out of their four LaLiga matches this season, establishing themselves as a strong competitor.

Besides Lamine Yamal, Alejandro Balde, Gavi, and Marc-André ter Stegen will also miss the match against Getafe. Pau Cubarsi’s status is uncertain due to knee issues. Given these challenges, Hansi Flick may stick to a lineup similar to the previous game but with specific adjustments.

With this in mind, Barcelona could lineup as follows: Joan Garcia; Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia, Andreas Christensen, Gerard Martin; Marc Casado, Pedri; Raphinha, Dani Olmo, Marcus Rashford; Ferran Torres.

Getafe will also be missing Juanmi for the match. However, head coach Jose Bordalas has avoided major injury problems and is likely to use the lineup that has been successful this season. He will rely on Adrian Liso and Borja Mayoral to lead the attack once again.

With this in mind, Getafe could play as follows: Davis Soria; Kiko Femenia, Dakonam Djene, Abdel Abqar, Domingos Duarte, Diego Rico; Luis Milla, Mario Martin, Mauro Arambarri; Adrian Liso, Borja Mayoral.
