Wolverhampton has officially terminated the contract of head coach Vitor Pereira following a heavy 0-3 defeat against Fulham on Saturday. The English club is having a nightmare start to the season, with ten consecutive matches without a win in the Premier League, earning only two points out of a possible thirty. Sitting at the bottom of the table, the Wolves boast the league’s worst defense and weakest attack, now trailing by eight points from safety. Pereira’s dismissal ends an eleven-month tenure that began in December 2024 after Gary O’Neil’s departure. The Portuguese coach had previously saved the club last season with a string of six consecutive wins. Despite support from president Jeff Shi and a contract extension received this summer, Pereira could not survive this disastrous start and has left his sixth job prematurely.
The Wolves have parted ways with their head coach, Vitor Pereira, after a winless start to the 2025-2026 season. Upon his arrival at Molineux last December, Pereira and his staff had an immediate impact, leading the team to a successful second half of the Premier League season. However, the results and performances this season have been deemed unacceptable, prompting a change in leadership. All eight members of Pereira’s coaching staff have also left the club. Under-21 coach James Collins and under-18 coach Richard Walker will oversee training until a new head coach is appointed.
