Details: Reports from The Athletic suggest that the 2034 World Cup, likely in Saudi Arabia, might be pushed to 2035 due to Ramadan, which is in November and December of 2034.
While the exact dates are not yet confirmed, FIFA President Gianni Infantino mentioned that they are exploring various scheduling options for the World Cup:
“We are considering all the details — discussions are ongoing with everyone involved. This includes not only one World Cup but broader scheduling considerations.
Even in some European nations, July can be very hot. So we may need to consider more suitable months, like June, which isn’t often used.”“There might be ways to adjust the calendar, and we are discussing this. We need to be open to new ideas.” – Gianni Infantino.
FIFA has previously been criticized for hosting the Club World Cup in the USA and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Many players faced significant challenges due to extreme heat, affecting their performance.
