Multi-ownership in football doesn’t guarantee success. Criticized by many, it has led to difficulties for clubs like Olympique Lyonnais and Troyes. However, it can result in positive outcomes, as seen with Strasbourg, a subsidiary of BlueCo and Chelsea. This success seems to have inspired FC Metz president, Bernard Serin, to consider multi-ownership.

“Why not? I admire what Strasbourg has accomplished, especially Marc Keller. I’ve congratulated him for what he’s done because Chelsea has a strategy. The English club recruits the best young players under 21 or 22 in Europe and places them at Strasbourg, ultimately creating a very competitive team in the French league and allowing participation in European competitions. (…) Multi-ownership with two clubs, like Chelsea and Strasbourg, seems to work. However, when there are 10 or 15 clubs involved, it becomes more problematic. I see that with Troyes. (…) At Strasbourg, I envision it working well, but with many clubs like at City, I find it less appealing,” he said during an interview with RMC Sport.
