Inter Milan appointed Cristian Chivu as their head coach last season, but it seems they are now eyeing a more prominent name for the role.

Details: Reports from Santi Aouna indicate that Inter is interested in hiring Diego Simeone as their next head coach. The club has reportedly made initial contact with the Argentine. However, they have not completely dismissed Chivu and are open to extending his contract.

Simeone, who played for Inter for several years, has been at the helm of Atlético Madrid since 2011. Under his leadership, Atlético reached the UEFA Champions League finals in both the 2013/14 and 2015/16 seasons and secured La Liga titles in 2013/14 and 2020/21.
