Igor Tudor has acknowledged that Tottenham Hotspur faces a tough season, but he believes the pressure of relegation is less severe compared to other challenges.
Spurs will face Crystal Palace tomorrow in a vital match, as they currently share their longest winless streak in Premier League history at 10 games.
Tudor has yet to secure a win in his two matches as coach, and Spurs are only four points above the relegation zone.
While he recognizes the survival pressure on his squad, Tudor compared it to the intense pressures faced by healthcare professionals.
“Everyone knows the situation. If not, that’s a problem. My role is to ease the pressure, but the players must recognize it exists,” he said.
“There’s real pressure out there. People need to earn a living. Those in jobs like doctors are making decisions about life and death—that’s serious pressure.
“We need to be ready to accept this and rise to the occasion. We have to say ‘we can do this’ to avoid falling behind. Taking responsibility and having the courage to face this is essential.
“This is the best approach, and the only approach [in my view].”
