A Moroccan court has upheld prison sentences for Senegalese football fans linked to the disturbances that followed the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final.

The Rabat Court of Appeal confirmed the convictions of 18 supporters accused of participating in a pitch invasion after the match. Prosecutors sought tougher sentences, but the court decided to maintain the original penalties.

The chaos unfolded in the stadium after the final, with tensions escalating quickly. During the trial, many of the accused denied any wrongdoing, stating they were either pushed onto the pitch by the crowd or trying to escape thrown objects and spitting from the stands.

Reports indicate that the court imposed various sentences on the group. Nine fans received one-year prison terms and fines of 5,000 dirhams (€460). Six others were sentenced to six months in jail and fined 2,000 dirhams (€180), while the last three were given three-month sentences and fined 1,000 dirhams (€90).
