Goalkeeper Andre Onana, who has not been included in Cameroon’s national squad since the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, recently addressed his situation with the Indomitable Lions.
In a statement on social media, Onana emphasized that he has no conflict with the national team or the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT). However, he did mention one individual, without naming them, who he believes is using the Federation and the national team for personal reasons.
I have no issues with the national team, I have no issues with FECAFOOT. I disagree with an individual who is using FECAFOOT and the national team to settle scores. If you disagree, they’ll get rid of you. I’ve taken a lot of knocks for the love of our country. I was forced into retirement, so all I can do now is support our younger brothers. I’m their number one fan, and I send them messages after matches to congratulate them.
