Werder Bremen Coach Confirms Victor Boniface Could Return to Action This Weekend
Werder Bremen’s head coach, Daniel Thioune, has suggested that Nigerian forward Victor Boniface might make his return to first-team action as soon as this weekend.
Ahead of the upcoming match against Hamburger SV, Thioune provided a cautiously optimistic update on Boniface’s condition, emphasizing that a comeback is still a possibility.
In remarks shared by Weser-Kurier, Thioune expressed an open-minded approach regarding Boniface’s availability:
“We’re not ruling any player out, not even Victor. If we see an opportunity and he adapts, then it’s possible he’ll return to competitive action. I’m also reserving the right to assess his participation in tomorrow’s final training session.”
Boniface has been sidelined since December 2025 due to a serious knee injury that required surgery, keeping him out for several months.
