Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola may soon embark on a new adventure with the Italy national football team. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 55-year-old coach has expressed interest in taking on this role, indicating a willingness to lead the Azzurri.

Guardiola has previously stated his desire to test himself at the international level following a break from club football, and it appears this ambition may now be within reach. However, he is not expected to assume the position until after 2027, given his current contract with Manchester City.

This development arises after Italy’s recent struggles on the international stage. The team failed to qualify for the World Cup, losing to Bosnia and Herzegovina in a penalty shootout during the final playoff match. The disappointing outcome led to the dismissal of the entire coaching staff, which was previously led by Gennaro Gattuso.
