The latest remarks made by Andre Onana, the Indomitable Lions’ goalkeeper, have reportedly been met with significant disapproval from the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT). The Manchester United player, currently on loan at Trabzonspor, is at risk of being barred from representing the national team for an extended period.
During a recent TikTok live stream, Onana expressed his grievances, stating, “I have no problem with FECAFOOT, but with an individual who is using it to settle scores.” While he has not disclosed the identity of the individual he references, the comments have raised alarm within the federation.
In response, FECAFOOT is contemplating imposing severe sanctions against Onana, according to reports from Sport News Africa. The federation’s officials are preparing a disciplinary response, which is expected to be addressed in the upcoming general assembly.
Onana’s situation is critical, as he could face a suspension lasting several years from the national team. It is noteworthy that he has not received a call-up for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations or the FIFA Series scheduled for March 2026.
