Paulus Masehe has acknowledged that he is not currently focused on taking over as head coach of Sekhukhune United on a permanent basis, despite his recent appointment as interim manager following the dismissal of Eric Tinkler.
Since taking charge, Masehe has overseen two matches for Babina Noko, resulting in one loss and one draw. Under his leadership, Sekhukhune suffered a 3-1 defeat against Stellenbosch FC and managed a draw against Marumo Gallants.
With the season nearing its conclusion, Sekhukhune is looking to secure a permanent manager. However, Masehe has not completely ruled himself out of the running for the position. In an interview with FARPost, he mentioned the challenges of taking over a team mid-season and the difficulty in changing established habits.
“But to be honest, it’s an opportunity that I am taking one game at a time. I am not looking way far ahead. At the end of the day, it wasn’t something that was in my ambitions. I had given myself a bit of time to learn. But if it comes, I would grab it with both hands and make the best of it,” Masehe said.
