German forward Nick Woltemade may be set to leave Newcastle United after just one season amid reported tensions between him and the club’s management.

Details emerging from Christian Falk indicate that Woltemade’s relationship with the team’s hierarchy, particularly head coach Eddie Howe, has deteriorated. Sources suggest that this discord may lead the 24-year-old to seek a departure this summer.

Despite the tensions, Woltemade remains optimistic about resolving the situation:

“Normally, Nick Woltemade would not want to leave Newcastle this summer. However, we’ve all seen his posts on social media (and, notably, what has since disappeared).

There’s a backstory here. There was an article in an English newspaper, and I believe that Woltemade knows the reporter in question is very close to Eddie Howe. It’s possible the German striker feels that the opinion expressed in the article is shared by his manager. I can say that, perhaps, that’s actually the case.

That’s why they might have reached a new conclusion about what lies ahead for all parties next season.” — Falk told CF Bayern Insider exclusively.

Woltemade joined Newcastle last August from Stuttgart for €75 million. During his time with the Magpies, he has made 48 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing 5 assists. His contract with the club runs until 2031, and his current market value is estimated at €65 million by Transfermarkt.
