Manchester City is reportedly making significant strides towards securing the signing of young German midfielder Kenneth Eichhorn. The club is focused on future talent as it aims to bolster its squad with the addition of the 16-year-old wonderkid from Hertha Berlin.
According to renowned journalist Florian Plettenberg via his X social media account, Manchester City is ready to meet the financial demands set by both Eichhorn and Hertha. Once the transfer is confirmed, the plan is to loan Eichhorn to Bayer Leverkusen, allowing him to gain essential experience in a competitive environment.
However, City faces competition in the market, as Bayern Munich has expressed interest in acquiring the promising midfielder. Other clubs, including RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund, are also reportedly pursuing Eichhorn, who is a product of Hertha’s academy.
This season, Eichhorn has made 19 appearances for Hertha and scored two goals, with his market value estimated at 20 million euros according to Transfermarkt. Should he leave the club this summer, it will mark the first transfer of his young career.
