The Iranian national football team has secured a significant change ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
FIFA has officially permitted the team to relocate its training camp from Tucson, Arizona, to Tijuana, Mexico. This decision comes after public threats from US President Donald Trump, who warned that it would be dangerous for Iranian players to step onto US soil.
In light of these concerns, the Iranian management swiftly appealed to FIFA to alter the team’s training base location. Initially, FIFA expressed skepticism about this request. However, just over two weeks before the start of the World Cup, the governing body approved the team’s move to Mexico.
Iran, which is placed in Group G, will compete against Belgium, New Zealand, and Egypt during the tournament.
