The Cameroon Football Federation has announced that the national team will forgo any matches during the June 2026 FIFA window. This decision marks a significant move as it prioritizes the well-being of the Indomitable Lions.
According to the federation, head coach David Pagou has opted not to organise a training camp during this window. This choice was made to ensure the international players are allowed ample time to rest after a demanding season with their respective clubs.
This decision aims to allow Cameroon’s international players, most of whom have just completed a particularly demanding season with their respective clubs, to benefit from a much-needed period of recovery, both physically and mentally. The coaching staff believes that adequate rest at this time of year will contribute to better preparation for the Indomitable Lions’ upcoming fixtures, notably the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, which are set to begin next September.
