Monaco is poised to appoint a legendary player as their new head coach, marking a significant development in Ligue 1. According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the club has reached a full agreement on contract terms with Filipe Luis, who is set to lead the Monegasques.

This decision has surprised many in the footballing community, as the young Brazilian coach had been linked with several top teams prior to Monaco’s swift action. Filipe Luis has reportedly given the green light for the move, which the club’s management has been orchestrating behind the scenes.

The contract between the former Atlético and Chelsea defender and the French club will run until June 2028. This strategic appointment was driven by Monaco’s sporting director, Thiago Scuro, who successfully negotiated with Luis to take on this pivotal role.

It is important to note that Filipe Luis was dismissed from his position at Flamengo in December and has been without a coaching role since then.
