FC Barcelona is intensifying its efforts to acquire Argentine striker Julián Álvarez from Atlético Madrid. The Spanish club has reportedly submitted an offer of €100 million for the forward.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Atlético Madrid has set its asking price higher than the €120 million it received for Antoine Griezmann. Álvarez has expressed a desire to leave the club, complicating the negotiations.
Previously, Paris Saint-Germain FC presented an offer to Atlético Madrid that included €120 million plus two players in exchange for Álvarez. The striker joined Atlético Madrid from Manchester City in 2024 for €75 million and is under contract until June 30, 2030.
This season, Álvarez has made 49 appearances across all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing nine assists.
