Mamadou Sangare has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to football at the Mali Football Awards. The midfielder received the prestigious Malian Player of the Year 2026 award during the 3rd edition of the event, held on Thursday, May 28, in Bamako.
During his first season in France’s Ligue 1 with Lens, Sangare earned acclaim for his consistent performances, which culminated in receiving the Marc Vivien Foe Award. His skill on the field has garnered attention not only from fans and critics but also from his home country.
In addition to his individual accolades, Sangare played a pivotal role in Lens’s victory in the Coupe de France. His contributions to the Mali national team were also evident during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations held in Morocco, where he impressed with his performances.
