Concerns are rising among Bundesteam fans as young midfielder Lennart Karl may miss the upcoming World Cup due to a serious injury.
As reported by respected journalist Florian Plettenberg on social network X, the 18-year-old attacking midfielder for Germany and Bayern Munich sustained the injury during training ahead of the friendly match against the USA.
The injury’s severity has prompted the national team’s coaching staff to consider the possibility of replacing Karl on the official World Cup squad list.
“Things are not looking good,” said Bundesteam head coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Lennart Karl has emerged as a standout player this season, having made 40 appearances for Bayern Munich, where he scored 9 goals and provided 8 assists. He has also participated in 3 matches for the German national team.
